Does Medicare Part D cover the shingles vaccine and other vaccines?

As with most commercially available Medicare Part D vaccines needed to prevent illness, your Medicare Part D plan covers the shingles vaccine and its administration. You may have a copay or coinsurance for covered vaccines depending on the plan you have, and whether you use a network pharmacy.

Note: SilverScript members are encouraged to call Customer Care prior to getting a vaccination, to learn more about how vaccinations are covered, cost sharing, using network providers/pharmacies, and if applicable, how to receive reimbursement for your plan’s share of the cost. Customer Care is available round the clock by calling toll free,1-866-235-5660, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. TTY users dial 711.
